This 34-year-old woman was unhappy with the shape, size, and asymmetry of her breasts. She was bothered by how her left breast had a more elevated position than her right breast. She wanted her breasts to be larger, and more proportional. Knowing that there were plastic surgery procedures that could help her correct this, she made an appointment with a Los Angeles plastic surgeon at Marina Plastic Surgery Associates.

She expressed to her surgeon how she wanted a breast augmentation without removal of skin or tissue around the areolas. Augmenting the breasts in this way is particularly challenging compared to a typical breast augmentation. Patients often like this method because it keeps the breasts looking very natural.

During her procedure, her surgeon made incisions around her areolas and inserted 400 cc Moderate Plus Profile gel implants. Moderate Plus Profile breast implants were the best implant type for this patient, since she has a narrow chest width and still wanted a full, projecting contour. These implants were placed in a submuscular pocket which is behind the pectoral muscle. This helps to conceal edges and ripples of the breast implant and many of our patients like this position because it often allows for the breasts to have a natural feel.

Her surgeon was able to preserve her areolas and did not have to remove any of her skin. Her breasts have the proportional look that she desired. She is very pleased with her Los Angeles breast augmentation.
